10 - Construction of No. 13 "MALVERN" from a Locolines’ “Jumbo” kit

Stages in the construction of 0-6-0T No.13 MALVERN, a battery powered loco constructed from card & wood.

The model was adapted from the LOCOLINES' "Jumbo" card loco kit and the chassis is the 0-6-0 deluxe model from I P ENGINEERING. Some of the detailing was supplied by CAMBRIAN MODELS who produce a wide range of items for 16mm:1ft scale model narrow gauge railways. (Links correct at 10 May 2008.)

The sound unit is a tight fit inside the over-sized backhead - 7 August 2007 2832x2128	To start the loco a Forward - Stop - Reverse switch has been fitted inside the coal bunker - 7 August 2007 1865x1655	Bench testing the smoke unit which was taken from a large toy locomotive costing Ł4.99 - 7 August 2007 1235x1455	Outside testing of the smoke unit - There is a small centrifugal fan fitted under the footplate which forces air through the unit and out of the chimney - 7 August 2007 2832x2128
