The safety valve cover and water tank fillers have been turned from wood, with the hinge detail on the filler covers being made from card. The whistle is from a piece of brass rod. To finish the dome and safety valve cover they were first sparayed with grey primer and then given several coats of Plasti-Kote's Bright Metallic Gold. This gives an excellent representation of brass. 'Coal' was added to the bunkers on top of the water tanks.
