11 - Construction of No. 14 "WREKIN" - Built from a Locolines' “Hunslike” kit
Rea Valley Light Railway @ fotopic.net
The connecting rods have been made using recycled steel from a biscuit tin - Because the connecting rods are thin all that needs doing is to file down the big end bearing of the coupling rods just enough to allow the connecting rods big-ends to fit onto the crank pin and allow the e-clip enough room to snap back into placePrevious | NextThe rods and crossheads have all been painted black - Since the cranks are rather large for a Hunslet they too have been painted black - The coupling and connecting rods have been picked out with a red stripe and everything has been given a coat of matt varnish
